Hello Flyers!
The Difference, UD's social justice magazine is making a comeback. We are aiming for a November/December combined issue and looking forward to sharing the great advocacy and service work conducted by members of this university. It looks like a great issue, so keep your eye out for it! Also, this blog is a new way for you to interact with The Difference, and we want your ideas for how to make this a useful and informative tool for service clubs and individuals. Tell us what you need to promote service by this community, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
This is the first edition of Wednesday bullets, which will feature links to prominent information and happenings in the social justice arena. Feel free to suggest topics and post your own (please keep your posts in the spirit of the mission of spreading awareness and action on issues of healing injustice and helping those in need). Here we go!
- The Monitor reports that Uganda wants the extradition of surrendered LRA commanders.
- SaveDarfur.org finds that the splintering of rebel groups in Darfur is holding back the negotiations process.
- OxFam America wants a fair Farm Bill, launches new ad campaign with diverse group of concerned environmentalists and taxpayer watchdogs.
- A coalition of NGO's partners anew to find solutions to the clean water and sanitation crisis in the developing world.
- Refugees International explores the refugee situation emerging in Iraq, providing analysis and policy recommendations.
